Colville Town
In early days, Colville was the centre of the Kauri milling industry. Today, it is a quiet country town serving the arts and crafts and farming communities.

Granite Quarry Wharf
Located at Paritu, north of Colville. This was the second wharf built to service the scows that came across from Auckland to collect the Coromandel Granite.

Whangapoua Beach
From the white sand and surf of this beach, take the 30 minute walk to Wainuiototo Bay (New Chums Beach), one of the Peninsula's most beautiful beaches.

Coromandel Communities
These have evolved from the 1960's and 70's communes and now are activity centres of farming, education or arts and crafts. Visits can be arranged through the Coromandel Information Centre.
